THIS EVENT IS BEING ORGANISED BY WICKSTEAD HORSEPLAY, HORSE EVENTS IS ACTING AS THE ONLINE SECRETARY ONLY
Entries close on the 3 days before or when full.
Class times will be available on Horse events website 2 days before after 6pm


On entering Wickstead Farm Equestrian Centre you will be met at the gate by the Secretary. You maybe asked to show your horses passport and sign in checking your track and trace information is correct.
Permission to enter Wickstead Horsplay is not given to anybody without passing through the secretaries.
Your supporter must be willing to administer basic First Aid if needed.
The warm up is limited to 7 people or 20 mins before your time


Entry fee £14 per class (not including booking fee)

Class 1: 50cm – 55cm Under 16 only.
Single phase (one round of 12-14 fences, timed after fence 6).
No rider or horse to have competed successfully at 70cm before.
Any rider and horse combination entering cannot enter above class 2 if entering class 1.
Outside assistance permitted.

Class 2 60cm – 65cm Under 16 only.
Single phase (one round of 12-14 fences, timed after fence 6).
No rider or horse to have competed successfully at 80cm before.
Any rider and horse combination entering cannot enter above class 3 if entering class 2.
If a rider is struggling outside assistance will be permitted, however the rider will be non-competitive (HC).
Places 1st, 2nd and 3rd may be eligible for the South West Championships running at Hartpury on 28th May 2022, for more information please see details below.

Class 3: 70cm-75cm Open to all
Single phase (one round of 10 - 12 fences, timed after fence 6).

Class 4: 80cm – 85cm
Single phase (one round of 10 - 12 fences, timed after fence 6).

Class 5: 90cm – 95cm
Single phase (one round of 10 -12 fences, timed after fence 6).

Class 6: 100cm – 105cm
Single phase (one round of 10 - 12 fences, timed after fence 6).

Class 7: 105cm
Single phase (one round of 10 - 12 fences, timed after fence 6).

Class 8: 110cm

RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. The judge’s decision is final.
2. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse an entry, restrict entries and make alterations
to entries if they deem necessary.
3. Assistance but not leading is permitted in class 1 only. For class 2 if the rider is needing help then an assistor can step in, however the rider will then be deemed to be non-competitive. No assistance in all other classes.
4. Hats – Hats should be of the current British Standard Riding Hats conforming to All PAS 015, VG1 – provided they are BSI Kitemarked, European – VG1 – provided they are BSI Kitemarked American –All SEI ASTM F1163 04a onwards and SNELL E2001 Australian & New Zealand – AS/NZS 3838 2006 onwards.
5. Competition clothing should be worn at all times when mounted.
6. Age of Competitor: Must be over 7 years of age on the date of competition.
7. A refund, less admin fee, will be given before close of entries. NO REFUNDS AFTER CLOSE OF ENTRIES, for any reason.
8. Face jewellery other than a studs is not permitted, studs are worn at the riders risk and are not recommended.
9. DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES. Please clean up after your dog.
10. In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control £5 per competitor
will be withheld to cover costs.
11. Please clear all droppings/hay/litter from Wickstead Farm. No mucking out of lorries/ trailers.
12. At Wickstead during the winter months our parking is limited. Absolutely no tying up outside of your horse box is permitted at any time.
13. Please park where instructed.
14. All horses must be vaccinated We work on an annual basis. There must be 6 clear days between any vaccination injection given and the date of the event.
15. Health & Safety – The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards.
16. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY - Legal liability; Save for death or personal injury caused by negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are, in law, responsible neither the organisers, Wickstead HorsePlay, any agent, employee or representative of these bodies nor Wickstead Farm Equestrian Centre and its representatives accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories or any other person or property whatsoever whether caused by negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever.
Information.
Prizes; Gift Vouchers and Certificates will be used in some cases and will be awarded via email with in 48hours to the email used to make the entry. Or rosettes will be awarded and prizes in kind.
Gift Vouchers and certificates 1st and 2nd for 5 entries or more. Certificates to 3rd if more than 8 competitors.
Or Rosettes awarded 1st to 3rd if less than 8 competitors. If more than 8 competitors then rosettes to 6th. The first 3 will be posted if not picked up, anyone placed 4th - 6th who requires a rosette please send a large SAE to

There will be catering onsite. All rubbish to be taken home and disposed of. Please stick to the current Covid guidelines from the Government at the time of the competition.

We recommend bringing your own sanitiser, towels, or wipes. We will provide some for the toilet, but cannot guarantee they will not run out.

Wash/ sanitise your hands regularly and especially after touching something that has been touched by other people.

South West Hartpury Show Jumping Championships
Held in The Hartpury Arena Saturday 28th May 2022
These Championships are not affiliated to British Showjumping and will all run under Table A7
Rules and qualifying criteria for Unaffiliated Show Jumping
All horse/rider combinations placed in the top 3 of all height classes will qualify according to the qualifying criteria for the South West Hartpury Championship show on 28th May 2022.
Qualifying Criteria for Showjumping:
•​The top 3 horse/rider combinations qualify providing they have jumped clear in the first round
•​British Showjumping members are not eligible to qualify for Class 1
•​British Showjumping members who are in the Gold League are not eligible for qualification in any class.
•​In the event that you have gained qualification in more than one different height section you may take your place in a MAXIMUM of two of the Championships per rider
•​Winning combinations of championship classes in 2020will not be eligible to compete in the same or a lower height championship class in 2022.

Note: Qualifying cards will should be given to competitors who gain qualification on the day of competition (or via email due to absence or Covid Restrictions)

Qualified competitors must register details via email (shows@hartpury.ac.uk) with the show secretary and further information and entry forms will be e-mailed out closer to the Championship.
